THE 50TH ANNUAL PRIMETIME EMMY AWARDS The 50th annual Emmy Awards accented those links The 50th Emmys first and foremost celebrated TV's ability to bring the world into our living rooms. James Moll directed a series of short “film packages” called “America is Watching.” Together with producer June Beallor, Moll toured the country asking Americans to describe television's impact upon their lives. Featured in the segments was a musician from the center of New Orleans Jazz “Preservation Hall,” as well as firemen, factory workers, war veterans, and even a cancer survivor who credits “Murphy Brown” for bringing comfort and understanding during a this frightening, life-threatening period of her life. |
