Emmett Till
A Feature Film

Based on the book “Death of Innocence: The Story of the Hate Crime That Changed America”
By Mamie Till-Mobley and Christopher Benson

It was a legacy that was unexpected, unjust, and unwanted – but one she accepted.

Consequently, from the moment she demanded an open-casket viewing of her son’s body, MAMIE TILL-MOBLEY made it her life’s work to make certain that the tragic story of Emmett Till’s brutal murder would not be erased from the collective conscience.

In the final years of her life, two things became incredibly important to Mother Mobley: writing her autobiography and seeing Emmett’s story told on film.During the last six months of her life, Mother Mobley worked on her book and assembled the team to make her dream a reality.

On January 6, 2003, Mamie Till-Mobley passed away at the age of 81.
