CRADLE TO CRADLE

YOU and your decadent lifestyle are to blame for our major environmental problems.  You must make sacrifices and go without in order to save our planet!   Stop being so bad! Stop being so greedy and materialistic!  Stop spending!  Stop driving!

Just stop.  Unless guilt-ridden and depressed seems like a fun way to live your life?

In Cradle-to-Cradle, a new documentary based on the book of the same name, architect William McDonough and chemist Michael Braungart will demonstrate a radically different philosophy and practice of manufacture and environmentalism to redesign the world from the molecule up.

Simply, they will remake the way we make things.

No longer is the best option to make something less bad.  No longer do you need to fear abundance.  Every product you purchase – from your take-out food containers to that brand new car – will be designed with inherent intelligence and manufactured responsibly to continually circulate as biological and/or technical nutrients to provide nourishment for something new. In doing so, you can gleefully consume, guilt-free, because your waste = food.

No gloom or doom.  No strategy of tragedy.  No talking head condescendingly announcing that you are bad.  Rather, environmentally intelligent design can reflect a new spirit.  And with new design – and more products! – you can help fatten the economy in a socially and environmentally responsible way and become an active player in the infinite game of cradle-to-cradle.  Wouldn’t that be fun?

Imagine that.
