AVIATRIX

The true, untold story of the first Women’s Transcontinental Air Race of 1929.
It was a time when no one believed that women were capable of flying. To prove them wrong, twenty brave female pilots raced for nine straight days in open-air cockpits with only roadmaps for guides. Among the racers were a beautiful Hollywood actress, a foul-mouthed test pilot, the most famous female flyer in the world, and a sweet mid-western housewife. They flew for nine grueling days from Santa Monica to Cincinnati, confronting torrential rain, blinding dust storms, crash landings, sabotage, and even death. Their story is perhaps the greatest untold aviation experience of all time.
