

Michael Rosen has been a producer and director in the entertainment business for eighteen years.
Currently, he is producing and directing a documentary special entitled “Beyond the Expedition: Running the Sahara,” for Live Planet and National Geographic Channel, which chronicles award-winning filmmakers as they document three ultra-marathoners’ history-making attempt to run across the Sahara desert, 4000 miles, for more than 100 days.
Rosen is Founding Executive Producer for the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences Foundation's Archive of American Television, which is now the world’s largest digital resource on the history of television. Working closely with co-founders Grant Tinker, David Wolper, and Dean Valentine, Rosen produced 2,000 hours of documentary style videotapes interviews with over 500 television legends and pioneers.
For five years, Rosen served as Executive Producer for the Television Academy, in charge of overseeing the development and production of more than 30 projects annually – producing and directing many projects for the Television Academy and the Emmy Awards. In 2005, Rosen produced and directed “Behind the Wings of an Emmy,” a documentary on the making of the Emmys, hosted by “Dancing with the Stars” alum John O’Hurley, that ran on United Airlines and AOL Television.
In 2004, Rosen executive produced with Gary Smith and Dann Netter a one-hour television special "Emmy's Greatest Moments," hosted by Jason Bateman, and starring Allison Janney and LeVar Burton for TV Land.
Rosen co-created and produced a TV pilot entitled, “Editing 24,” in association with Fox’s “24” producers and the American Cinema Editors. He also co-created and executive produced a limited series, “Pioneers of Television” for The Motion Picture and Television Fund’s new cable channel, MPTV.
In 2002, Rosen produced and directed a documentary, "A Salute to Robert Altman: An American Maverick," starring Glenn Close, Lily Tomlin, and Helen Mirren for USA Films that aired on Bravo and IFC.
He was the Production Manager for an independent feature film, "Bigfoot: The Unforgettable Encounter" starring Zachery Ty Bryan for Republic Pictures.
Rosen began his film and television career working first as a script reader for film producer Lauren Shuler-Donner, and then as assistant to Nick Nolte on "Three Fugitives" for Touchstone Pictures. He continued at Touchstone in production on feature films including "What About Bob?," "The Rocketeer," and "The Doctor." He then worked in development for producer Jon Peters during the launch of Peters' own company, Peters Entertainment.
Rosen was in professional theatre for 14 years throughout the Pacific Northwest as an actor, and then a director. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the distinguished UCLA Film & Television School.
